Coldshields and Thermalshields for a variety of infrared and satellite applications are produced complete with gold and or blackened coatings. The electroforming process allows the manufacture of cold shields with low mass, thin walls, and short cool down times.Extremely thin walls and complex shapes with internal vanes or baffles can easily be produced. We also produce items with cold shields and thermal shields by depositing metal directly onto many of the rapid prototyping materials including SLA. Complex metal shapes or injection molds can be produced in this fashion bypassing costly and time consuming machine shop operations. Multiple generation electroformed nickel mandrels can also be produced off of customer's master impressions.
